The International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM) has announced the accreditation of South African Jacqui Baldwin Jarvis as the second accredited trainer for its Legal Project Management (LPM) accredited courses leading to the internationally recognised certifications “Legal Project AssociateTM” and “Legal Project PractitionerTM”. The Institute has lawyer graduates in 40 countries, including South Africa, Nigeria and Zambia that have been certified according to the IILPM standard.

Avuka contributes to AFBA Annual Conference in Port Harcourt (6-10 August 2017)

Today’s in-house legal departments find themselves in a rapidly changing legal and business environment, facing challenges such as having to reduce legal spend, with limited resources, while still delivery quality, efficient legal services. Two delivery models and services are particularly important in this shifting landscape that rely on expertise that one isn’t necessarily exposed to when following a legal career:

  • Legal Project Management (LPM)
  • Lobbying and Advocacy

Be it legal work being executed and managed in-house, or delegated to external counsel, there is an increased demand for legal departments to understand, track and manage their work, within budget, maintaining compliance, and managing risk. As the scope and volume of legal work increases, legal project management tools and techniques are being applied to manage, control and report.

Turning to new services in the in-house legal team’s portfolio, lobbying and advocacy are highly ranked. Our South African Constitutional democracy actively promotes the idea of public consultation. Avuka and Unlimited People Consulting launch first Professional Services Edition of Gazing’s global Strategic Relationship Management Methodology
