Successful conduct of first German LPM Meetup

Following the previously established IILPM-accredited series of Legal Project Management trainings and complementing Legal Tech Meetups in Germany, this new Meetup series closed the remaining gap.

The inaugural German LPM Meetup on 26 September in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), coordinated and convened by Avuka and kindly hosted by international law firm Ashurst, welcomed more than 25 attendees and those esteemed presenters (in order or presentations):

  • Dr Michael Holzhäuser, Ashurst LLP, Partner (Competition), Head of Legal Tech Working Group, Co-founder and Advisory Board Member of the post-graduate programme „Legal Process Management“ and lecturer „Legal Project Management for Compliance and Investigations“ at the German Graduate School of Management & Law (Heilbronn);

  • Kate Bassett, Ashurst Advance, Global Head of Legal Project Management & Process Improvement (link to joint Ashurst presentation slides);

  • Larry Bridgesmith (remote attendance), Professor Vanderbilt Law School, Fellow of the International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM), LPP (IILPM) and legal entrepepreneur (oral presentation*); and

  • Luis Soares, Legal Operations Manager at Hilti AG, LPP (IILPM), Executive Board Member of the Swiss Legal Tech Association (SLTA) and Advisory Board Member of ACC Legal Operations (link to presentation).

*NB: Larry Bridgesmith made reference to a white paper published by ILTA, dated July 2019.

We would like to thank all presenters, guests and Ashurst as hosting partner for insightful discussions and contributions. Should you be keen to attend one of the next LPM Meetups, please either join the LinkedIn LPM group or send a brief email to
